Harry Styles is Pulling Double Duty on SNL
One Direction stans rejoice—Harry Styles is going to be the center of Saturday Night Live on November 16, as announced through an Instagram post of the infamous SNL index cards. The musician, who is still riding on the hype over his recent single "Lights Up," surprised fans with something they might not have seen coming: he’s both the host and the musical guest. Styles will be playing double duty for the night, wearing two hats that typically go to separate celebrities. Recently, Chance the Rapper took on the same challenge, so it’s only right that Styles is next. If you needed more proof that he is a perfect being capable of anything and everything, well, here it is.
Styles has appeared on the show several times before, performing solo as well as with One Direction in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Fans are especially ready for his performance this time around, as it will be coming just a few weeks after “Lights Up,” which went viral for a host of reasons: great fashion by Harris Reed, a positive message, rumors about shrooms and sexuality...the usual. In the comments on his Instagram post, followers (both famous and fans) rejoiced. “🙌🏾🙌🏾,” commented Tracee Ellis Ross. “I normally don’t watch SNL but I will for the live performance of lights up lol,” said one fan. We couldn’t agree more, honestly.
In addition to his musical prowess, Styles has been making moves in the acting and fashion worlds, becoming a face of Gucci in 2018 and starring in Dunkirk in 2017. He’s seriously the perfect storm, and now, he can add SNL host to his resume. Harry, you make our stan hearts sing.
