Givenchy Unveils New 4G Bag for Pre-Fall 2021 Collection
Matthew M. Williams makes his own mark on the fashion house with this season's latest accessory.
As Creative Director Matthew M. Williams continues to reimagine Maison Givenchy in his own image, his latest endeavor stems from the brand's Pre-Fall 2021 collection: the 4G bag. Named for its quad of monogrammed G's on the buckle, the symmetrical accessory pays homage to the brand's namesake Hubert de Givenchy and his deep reverence for even and measured proportions. The bag, a rectangular crossbody that moonlights as a shoulder bag or clutch as well, imparts that same balance while maintaining Williams' own sense of elevated street style.
Available in sizes mini or small, the bag comes with two types of straps—either leather, to match the purse's own exterior, or chain, a trendy accoutrement many are incorporating into their accessory collections. The removable G-link chains come in both silver and gold, allowing shoppers to choose what best matches their ensemble of choice.
With a variety of colors, their endless opportunities for outfit assembly. From the Maison's standard hues like black, ivory, and cappuccino, to more season shades like avocado green, baby pink, red and dark khaki. In addition, select ivory and black models feature an all-over monogram pattern embedded into the leather thanks to high-frequency debossing, while other black and sky blue bags come with a puckered finish. However, no matter what style or color, each bag employs Williams' adoration for hardware and the brand's legacy of savoir-faire construction of leather.
