Hollywood&rsquo;s biggest movie stars are arriving on the red carpet ahead of the Oscars.

The 2025 <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/tags/oscars">Academy Awards</a> have officially started at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, setting the stage for an evening filled with cinematic celebration and recognition. With comedian Conan O&rsquo;Brien making his debut as host for the biggest night in film, the ceremony promises a blend of humor and heartfelt tributes as the industry honors the past year's standout films.
Spanish-language musical crime film <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/film-tv/everything-to-know-about-upcoming-film-emilia-perez-selena-gomez">Emilia P&eacute;rez</a> leads at the Oscars with 13 nominations, though its awards prospects may be clouded by controversy. The film&rsquo;s star, Karla Sof&iacute;a Gasc&oacute;n, who made history as the first openly trans actress to earn an acting nomination, is facing backlash after racist tweets resurfaced. The Brutalist and <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/film-tv/wicked-movie-details-ariana-grande-cynthia-erivo-trailer-release-date">Wicked</a> follow closely behind with ten nominations each and the race for Best Picture is packed with talent, featuring <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/film-tv/timothee-chalamet-a-complete-unknown-trailer">A Complete Unknown</a>, <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/pop-culture/anora-mikey-madison-role-prep-pole-dancing-russian">Anora</a>, Conclave, <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/film-tv/dune-part-two-details-trailer-cast-timothee-chalamet-zendaya-florence-pugh">Dune: Part Two</a>, I&rsquo;m Still Here, Nickel Boys, and <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/film-tv/demi-moore-films-tv-iconic-roles-ghost-the-substance">The Substance</a>. The Best Supporting Actor category is shaping up to be an exciting face-off, with former <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/film-tv/succession-season-4-details-cast-trailer-hbo">Succession</a> co-stars Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong both vying for the win.
While the Best Original Song performances were cut from this year's broadcast, music will still take center stage at the Oscars. Wicked leads <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/fashion/thom-browne-wicked-gowns-ariana-grande-cynthia-erivo-the-met-atelier-alina-cho">Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo</a> are set to open the show with their first live performance since the film's release last fall. The musical moments don&rsquo;t stop there&mdash;pop sensations <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/fashion/victorias-secret-fashion-show-2024-best-dressed-red-carpet">Blackpink&rsquo;s Lisa</a>, <a href="https://lofficielusa.org/beauty/doja-cat-best-beauty-moments-makeup-looks-birthday">Doja Cat</a>, and Raye are also slated to perform, with speculation swirling around a debut performance of their new single, &ldquo;Born Again.&rdquo; Adding to the night&rsquo;s magic, Queen Latifah will take part in a special tribute to the legendary Quincy Jones.
