<p>I put Rihanna's new You Mist Makeup-Extending Setting Spray through the ringer, including a four-mile run. Here's what I think after a week of testing pre-launch.</p>

<p>If I were to be stranded on an island with only one makeup product to use for the rest of my life, it would be concealer (probably the <a href="https://www.sephora.com/product/kosas-revealer-concealer-P456151">Kosas one</a> I've been using for years). But I'd find a way to sneak in setting spray, too. For me, these two products are the bedrock of my routine. I don't feel right unless I've got both on&mdash;concealer hides my dark circles, and setting spray keeps it all locked in place.</p>
<p>This is why I was particularly excited to hear about Rihanna's latest drop (which is, alas, more makeup and not music). The musician and makeup mogul's Fenty Beauty is<span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;"> debuting the You Mist Makeup-Extending Setting Spray, which will be available to shop starting January 17, retailing for $32. It's supposed to work as a two-in-one that locks in makeup while also hydrating the skin, thanks to ingredients like wild thyme extract (which is also anti-inflammatory and has been found to </span><a href="https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11153689/#:~:text=Wild%20thyme%20is%20found%20as,serpyllum%20Extract)." style="letter-spacing: 0px;">stimulate blood flow</a><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;">).</span></p>
<p>"I wanted a setting spray that really locks in your makeup but moves with you, not against you," the Bad Gal said in a press release. "We spend the time putting on our makeup, we deserve it to last!"</p>
<p>I tested the You Mist Makeup-Extending Setting Spray for over a week before it hit shelves, and I put it through the ringer. I wanted to see how well it would hold my makeup in place whether I was dancing all night with friends, hitting an intense workout, or in the office. Keep scrolling for my honest review.</p>

<h2>What I Like About Fenty's New Setting Spray</h2>
<p>The very first time I used the You Mist Makeup-Extending Setting Spray, I was intrigued by how finely its mist dispenses (from a recyclable aluminum spray can). In the past, I've used setting sprays that have a lot more weight after coming out, which can ruin a look and leave a splotchy finish. I appreciate how evenly this applies, whether I'm spraying it directly on my face or on a sponge before blending. (The latter is what Priscilla Ono, Rihanna's makeup artist, recommends.)&nbsp;</p>
<p>So, it comes on nicely, but how well does it actually <em>work</em>? I tested this out for more than a week, and it successfully locked things into place on casual days, leaving my skin with a subtle glow, too. But my favorite experiment was seeing how it held up on a four-mile run in New York City's cold weather. I applied the spray over my concealer and blotted on some powder before heading out. After finishing a sweaty jog with a friend, I was pleased to see my concealer didn't budge. This is exactly the coverage I'm looking for from my setting sprays.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The bottle's size is also ideal for any frequent flyers since it's TSA-friendly and fits within the liquids limit. If you like to move with ease through the airport and skip checking a bag, this can stay in your carry-on.</p>
<h2>What Could Be Better</h2>
<p>As much as I like the slim and compact can (that, as I said above, is carry-on friendly), it's also a drawback. The You Mist Makeup-Extending Setting Spray is available in only one size, and I wish there were a larger bottle available since I expect to run through the 3.4-ounce container quickly.&nbsp;</p>
